The upper ceiling of Superannuation benefit (SAB) has been capped at 30% by the 2nd pay revision committee of CPSUs. Before that, some top PSUs used to extend benefits on very higher sides, and some PSUs (unfortunately, BSNL also) didn’t extend the SAB at all.
AIGETOA is the first entity to voice for the implementation of SAB in BSNL. And due to its timely persuasions, we’re now getting the SAB at the rate of 5%. But still, we’re lagging far behind.
BSNL provides us,
- 12% of our Basic+IDA as EPF contribution.
- 4.8% as gratuity
- 5% as SAB (as on date)
Total count is: (12 + 4.8 + 5) = 21.8
So, still we’re lagging (30 – 21.8) --> 8.2 %
This SAB fund is managed by Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC). How to check the account balance:

Then login.
